Something so mundane – and yet it makes me feel accomplished and fulfilled.
Just being able to pick up my daughter in the stroller and being strong enough to push her home. Even able to stop and pick up some groceries on the way home too. Not really life-changing events!
And yet, three years ago, I could barely walk across the room with a walker. So I revel in being able to do the mundane things again, because they prove that I am still alive and an active participant in my life.
Multiple myeloma destroyed vertebrae in my spine, but it hasn’t destroyed my life – not yet.
I have a great team of people fighting this with me – many strong friends and family members who helped me through my treatment and recovery, and who are helping to raise money for multiple myeloma research. In the past three years, Team Lorraine, with the contributions of many supporters, has raised more than $50,000!
Go team!
I might just take a walk to celebrate…
